Adele Laurie Blue Adkins werd geboren in Londen op 5 mei 1988. Adele slaagde in mei 2006 voor de BRIT school, die voorbereidt op 'performing arts'. Op 22 oktober 2007 verscheen in Groot-Brittannië haar eerste single Hometown Glory. Haar eerste Nederlandse hit was Chasing Pavements, die op 13 januari 2008 binnenkwam en de #3 haalde. Het album 19 was nog succesvoller, dat stond 8 weken op 1 en werd de succesvolste plaat van 2009 (bestverkocht). Andere hitsingles: Cold Shoulder (#28 in 2008), Make You Feel My Love (#3 in 2009), Hometown Glory (#25 in 2009) en Rolling Into The Deep (#1 in 2011).
