Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc stijgt op 26 april 2014 van 11 naar 10. Het is zijn eerste solohit in Nederland nadat in 2010 I Need A Dollar flopte.
The Man is afkomstig van het album Lift The Spirit dat in oktober 2013 verscheen.
The Man is geïnspireerd op Your Song van Elton John uit 1971.


Aloe Blacc werd geboren op 7 januari 1979 in Orange County, Californië. Op 17 juni 2013 kwam de single Wake Me Up uit. Op de track van de Zweedse dj Avicii verzorgde Blacc de zangpartij. De track stond 11 weken op #1. Blacc nam het nummer ook nog zelf op en scoorde daar een redelijke hit mee.

Op 19 april 2014 scoort Calvin Harris met Summer voor de negende keer een hit in de Top 40 onder zijn eigen naam. Het is zijn tweede top 10-hit als hij van 16 naar 10 stijgt in de derde week notering. Een remix van zijn hand: Eat sleep rave repeat (Calvin Harris remix) met Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr & Beardyman haalde eerder in 2014 #8.

Calvin Harris werd op 17 januari 1984 geboren in Dumfries, Verenigd koninkrijk. De van origine Schotse dj en producer heet eigenlijk Adam Richard Wiles. In 2002 verschijnt onder de actnaam als Stouffer zijn eerste mini-album uit. In de jaren daarna scoort Calvin Harris vooral als producent van verscheidene remixen. In 2009 bereiken zowel I’m Not Alone als Ready For The Weekend de tipparade. In 2011 haalde hij met Kelis zijn eerste hit met Bounce (#28). In het najaar van datzelfde jaar is zijn samenwerking met Rihanna op We Found Love zijn grote doorbraak. De single bereikt de derde plaats en is zijn eerste top 10-notering.

#Selfie van The Chainsmokers stijgt op 5 april 2014 van 20 naar 10 in de derde week notering.
Op 17 december 2013 werd selfie met 32% van de stemmen het Nederlandse woord van het jaar 2013. Ook in Groot-Brittannië en België werd selfie tot woord van het jaar gekozen. Een selfie is een fotografisch zelfportret, vaak gemaakt met de camera op armlengte en gepubliceerd op een sociaalnetwerksite.

The Chainsmokers is een Amerikaans duo bestaande uit Andrew Taggart (1989) en Alex Pall (1985). De producers komen uit Maine respectievelijk New York. Sinds 2012 werken de twee samen als The Chainsmokers en maken elektronische dancemuziek.
