Op 25 januari 2014 stijgt OneRepublic met Counting Stars van 11 naar 8 in de 7e week notering. Het is een zogenaamde 'slow starter'. Zo kwam de hit in het Verenigd Koninkrijk pas ruim een half jaar na de eerste release op nummer 1 terecht. In Nederland flopte de single bij eerste uitbreng. Counting Stars is geschreven en geproduceerd door Ryan Tedder, zanger van OneRepublic. Het is hun zevende hit in Nederland en tweede top 10-succes.



OneRepublic is een Amerikaanse poprockband uit Colorado. De band werd opgericht in 2002 door zanger Ryan Tedder en gitarist Zach Filkins en bestaat verder uit gitarist Drew Brown, bassist Brent Kutzle en drummer Eddie Fisher. In 2007 scoorden ze hun eerste hit en enige no. 1 (4 weken) met Apologize (met Timbaland).

Op 25 januari 2014 stijgt Klingande met Jubel van 13 naar 10 in de tiende week notering. De track van het Franse duo Cédric Steinmyller (1991) en Edgar Catry (1991) was gemaakt voor een paar vrienden en die waren zo enthousiast over de muziek dat ze het op internet zetten. Bakermat, Wankelmut en Klangkarussel dienden als voorbeelden voor Klingande. De zangeres op Jubel heet Lucie Decarne.

Jason Derülo stijgt op 25 januari 2014 van 12 naar 9 met Trumpets. Het is de vierde single van zijn derde studioalbum Tatoos en zijn tiende Top 40-succes. In Australië behaalde de track Trumpets al nummer 1.

Jason Derülo werd op 21 september 1989 geboren in Miami als Jason Joel Desrouleaux. In 2009 haalde hij met zijn debuutsingle Whatcha Say #12. In 2013 scoorde hij zijn eerste top 10-hit met Talk Dirty (#5; met 2 Chainz). In Vlaanderen werd Talk Dirty zelfs een #1.

Op 11 januari 2014 stijgen Yellow Claw featuring Rochelle in de negende week notering van 14 naar 10 met Shotgun. Voor Yellow Claw is het hun vierde hit een eerste top 10-succes. Shotgun is Rochelle's tweede top 40/10-hit na No Air in juni 2011.

Yellow Claw bestaat uit Jim Aasgier (Jim Taihuttu), Nizzle (Nils Rondhuis) en MC Bizzey (Leo Roelandschap). Het is hun vierde hit in de Media Markt Top 40. In 2012 haalde Krokobil (met Mr. Polska en Sjaak) #12 en Nooit Meer Slapen #38 (met MocroManiac, Ronnie Flex & Jebroer). In 2013 bereikte Thunder #19 (met The Opposites). In Vlaanderen haalde Thunder #9.

Rochelle Perts (Helmond, 20 maart 1992) won in 2011 het vierde seizoen van X-Factor. Met No Air, een cover van Jordin Sparks en Chris Brown, haalde ze nummer 2 in de Top 40. Daarna bleef Rochelle nog twee keer steken in de Tipparade (What A Life, Intouchable), maar dankzij Yellow Claw scoort ze nu, dik twee jaar na haar doorbraak, haar tweede Top 40-hit.

Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr & Beardyman

Op 4 januari 2014 stijgt Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat (Calvin Harris remix) van Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr van 17 naar 9 in de derde week notering. Fatboy Slim werkt op de track samen met de Brits-Engelse dj Stefano Miele, oftewel Riva Starr, en de Britse beatboxer Darren Foreman, die beter bekend is onder de naam Beardyman. Ook Calvin Harris heeft zich met de track bemoeid. Hij maakte namelijk deze remix. De single schiet door naar de top 10 nadat het door de Glazen Huis-dj' s tot anthem van Serious Request werd verkozen.

Norman Cook werd geboren als Quentin Leo Cook in Bromley op 13 juli 1963. Fatboy Slim heeft al vaker de Top 40 gehaald en wel als onderdeel van verschillende acts. Onder zijn eigen naam Norman Cook was hij lid van de band The Housemartins, waarvan Caravan Of Love van 1999 tot en met 2004 in de Top 2000 stond. Daarna had hij hits onder namen als Beats International (Dub Be Good To Me), Pizzaman (Sex On The Streets), Mighty Dub Katz (Magic Carpet Ride) en Freakpower (Turn on Tune in Cop Out). Sinds 1998 is Norman vooral bekend als Fatboy Slim; Praise You (#32 in 1999) en Demons (#39 in 2001; met Macy Gray) haalden de Top 40.

De Brit Beardyman werd geboren als Darren Foreman op 14 mei 1982.

Schot Calvin Harris werd geboren als Adam Richard Wiles op 17 januari 1984.
