Ariana Grande-Butera werd op 26 juni 1993 geboren in Boca Raton, Florida. De Amerikaanse zangeres Ariana Grande-Butera begint haar loopbaan als actrice in de musical 13 en de serie Victorious. Ondertussen plaatst ze op YouTube verschillende covers, waaronder die van Only Girl (In The World) van Rihanna en Hurt van Christina Aguilera. Met The Way (samen met Mac Miller) scoorde ze in het voorjaar van 2013 haar eerste hit in Nederland: #28. Problem, waarop ook Iggy Azalea te horen is, bereikt in 2014 de vijfde plaats en wordt haar grootste hit in ons land. Ondertussen is ook Bang Bang de samenwerking met Jessie J en Nicki Minaj de Top 40 binnengekomen.

Zedd is de artiestennaam van de Duitse producer/dj Anton Zaslavski die op 2 september 1989 in Kaiserslautern werd geboren. In 2012 scoorde hij met Spectrum zijn eerste tipnotering in Nederland. Ook Clarity en Stay The Night kwamen niet verder dan de Tipparade.

Fireball van Pitbull featuring John Ryan stijgt op 23 augustus 2014 van 13 naar 9 in de derde week notering. De track is afkomstig van het album Globalization van Pitbull. Voor de rap liet Pitbull zich inspireren door de 80’s-hit Walk This Way van Run DMC en Aerosmith.

John Ryan schreef eerder nummers voor onder anderen Avicii en Olly Murs. Ook schreef hij mee aan de hits Best Song Ever (#16 in 2013) en Story Of My Life (#20 in 2013) van One Direction.

Armando Christian Pérez werd op 15 januari 1981 in Miami, Florida, geboren. Zijn eerste hit I Know You Want Me(Calle Ocho) haalde in 2009 de #1 notering en wel voor vijf weken. Give Me Everything stond in 2011 twee weken bovenaan (met Ne-Yo, Afrojack en Nayer). Timber (met Ke$ha) voerde de lijst in 2013 vier weken aan.

Bailando is een samenwerking met Sean Paul, de reggaeton-groep Gente De Zona en Descemer Bueno. De laatste twee acts komen uit Cuba en schreven het origineel van Bailando, dat eerder dan ook al door Gente De Zona opgenomen werd.

Magic!

Op 2 augustus 2014 stijgt Magic! met Rude van 12 naar 8 in de derde week notering. In de VS behaalde de track al de eerste plaats van de Billboard Hot 100.

De Canadese band Magic! ontstond in 2012 rond Nasri Atweh, Mark Pellizer, Ben Spivak en Alex Tanas. Hun debuutsingle Rude bereikt in 2013 de tweede plaats in Nieuw Zeeland en Australië. De band werkte in 2014 mee aan het Fifa WK-album en leverde een bijdrage aan het nieuwste album van Shakira.  Op 1 juli 2014 verscheen hun debuutalbum Don’t Kill The Magic.
