Skyfall van Adele stijgt op 20 oktober van 19 naar 1. Het is haar tiende hit in Nederland en zesde top 10-succes.
De single kwam op 8 binnen in de Verenigde Staten en daarmee is het Adele's eerste binnenkomst bij de bovenste tien aldaar.De song haalde al #1 in Griekenland en Ierland.

Skyfall is de themasong van de gelijknamige 23ste James Bond-film. De track verscheen op 5 oktober 2012 ter gelegenheid van de 50ste verjaardag van Dr. No, de eerste James Bond-film.

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins werd op 5 mei 1988 in Londen geboren. In 2008 scoorde ze met Chasing Pavements haar eerste hit (#9). Rolling In The Deep werd in 2011 haar eerste #1-hit (7 weken 1). Opvolger Set Fire To The Rain haalde in hetzelfde jaar ook #1 (1 week).

Liever Dan Lief van Gers Pardoel & Doe Maar is de officiële titelsong van de speelfilm Alles Is Familie. Deze film van de makers van Alles Is Liefde is vanaf 22 november 2012 in de bioscoop te zien.
Liever Dan Lief was nooit een hit voor Doe Maar, wel voor Tim Immers. Hij haalde #11 in 1996 (75 in de jaarlijst).

Gerwin (Gers) Pardoel werd geboren in Nijmegen op 12 mei 1981. Met Broodje Bakpao scoorde hij in 2010 zijn eeste hit (samen met The Opposites & Sef; #3). Opvolger Ik Neem Je Mee deed het in 2011/2012 nog beter. Die track stond 34 weken genoteerd en haalde #2.

Doe Maar is een Nederlandse en Nederlandstalige popgroep, die invloeden uit de ska, de punk en de reggae combineert tot Nederpop. De band bestond van 1978 tot 1984 en kwam zowel in 2000, 2008 als 2012 bijeen voor een reeks reünieconcerten. De groep bestaat nu uit zanger-gitarist Henny Vrienten, zanger-gitarist-toetsenist Ernst Jansz, gitarist Jan Hendriks en drummer René van Collem. Sinds 1 Dag Of 2 was in 1981 hun eerste hit (#29). Twee singles haalden #1: De Bom in 1982 (4 weken) en Pa in 1983 (2 weken). Zeven tracks van Doe Maar staan in de Radio 2 Top 2000, waarvan Sinds 1 Dag Of 2 op 439 de grootste is.

Op 13 oktober 2012 stijgt Rihanna met haar Diamonds in de tweede week notering van 29 naar 3. Het is haar 30ste hit in Nederland en 21 daarvan haalden de top 10. Diamonds is de eerste single van het nog te verschijnen zevende album. Het nummer is medegeschreven door Sia Furler, die eerder in Nederland een #2 scoorde met Titanium (met David Guetta).

Rihanna werd geboren als Robyn Rihanna Fenty op 20 februari 1988 in Saint Michael op Barbados. Pon De Replay was in 2005 haar eerste hit (#18). Rihanna haalde eenmaal de bovenste trede van de hitladder. In 2007 stond Don't Stop The Music twee weken op #1.

Op 13 oktober 2012 stijgt Robbie Williams in zijn derde hitweek van 11 naar 8 met Candy. Het is zijn 31ste hit in Nederland en 19e top 10 hit. De muziek en tekst werden medegeschreven door Gary Barlow (Take That). Op 10 november 2012 stijgt de track in de zevende week terug van 11 naar 10.

Robert Peter (Robbie) Williams werd geboren in Stoke-on-Trent op 13 februari 1974. Als lid van Take That scoorde hij zijn eerste hits, maar vanaf 1996 ook solo. Freedom haalde in 1996 #10. Zijn eerste nummer 1 hit als solo-artiest was Feel in 2002 (2 weken). Ook Tripping (3 weken in 2005) en Bodies (4 weken in 2009) haalden de top van de Nederlandse Top 40. Take That heeft in Nederland geen enkele nummer 1-hit op hun naam geschreven; Back For Good haalde #2 in 1995.

Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin

Op 6 oktober 2012 stijgt de Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin in de tweede week notering van 11 naar 8 met Don't You Worry Child. In juni, ruim twee maanden voor de release van de track op 14 september 2012, kondigde de groep al aan uit elkaar te gaan en dat dit het laatste nummer als groep zou zijn. In de video is te te zien hoe de Swedish House Mafia hun laatste optreden gaven in de Milton Keynes Bowl in Engeland. Het is hun vijfde hit en vierde top 10-notering.

De Zweedse zanger John Martin zong in 2011 ook het Swedish House Mafia-nummer Save The World.

De act Swedish House Mafia bestaat uit de Zweden Sebastian Ingrosso (Sebastian Carmine Ingrosso, Stockholm, 20 april 1983) en Axwell (Axel Christopher Hedfors, Lund, 18 december 1977) plus de Griek Steve Angelo (Steven Angello Josefsson Fragogiannis, Athene, 22 november 1982). Eric Prydz maakte ook even deel uit van de groep. Swedish House Mafia scoorde in 2010 een nummer 1-hit met hun eerste track One (Your Name) (twee weken aan top; met Pharell). Opvolger Miami 2 Ibiza haalde #10 (met Tinie Tempah). Save The World met vocalen van John Martin haalde #6 in 2011. Greyhound bleef eerder in 2012 steken op 18.

John Martin groeide op in Stockholm. Op zijn dertiende kocht John een gitaar, begon een bandje en speelde bij voorkeur nummers van Nirvana. John begon noodgedwongen met zingen toen de zanger van de band waarin hij gitaar speelde, opstapte. In december 2010 kwam Sebastian Ingrosso langs in de studio in Stockholm. Producer Michael Zitron en John Martin speelden hem een paar nummers voor, die bestemd waren voor het album van John Martin. Daarop vroeg Ingrosso of zij een tekst en melodie wilden schrijven bij een nummer waar hij op dat moment voor Swedish House Mafia mee bezig was. Dat deden ze en zo stonden ze aan de wieg van het nummer Save The World van Swedish House Mafia.
