RTL Boulevard United

Koningin Van Alle Mensen komt op 27 april 2013 op 6 de Top 40 binnen. Koningin Van Alle Mensen is een initiatief van het RTL4-programma RTL Boulevard. Het is een bedanklied voor koningin Beatrix op de melodie van 15 Miljoen Mensen (#1 in 1996 voor Fluitsma & Van Tijn) door het team van RTL Boulevard en de producers Fluitsma & Van Tijn. De opbrengst komt volledig ten goede aan het Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds.

De deelnemende artiesten

De 18 zangers en zangeressen die mee hebben gewerkt aan het bedanklied zijn: Edwin Evers, Willeke Alberti, Frans Bauer, Josje Huisman, Lieke van Lexmond, Xander de Buisonjé, Rene Froger, Danny de Munk, Najib Amhali, Danny Froger,Sandra Reemer, Pia Douwes, Albert Verlinde, Jeroen van der Boom, Wolter Kroes, Tim Douwsma, Ralf Mackenbach en Winston Gerschtanowitz.

Diverse artiesten

Het Koningslied komt op 27 april 2013 op 4 de Top 40 binnen ook al trok componist John Ewbank het zaterdagavond 21 april, een dag na de presentatie, terug. Ewbank had genoeg van alle kritiek op zijn lied; taalkundig en muzikaal. Zo werd het lied door neerlandicus Wim Daniëls hevig bekritiseerd in het programma Pauw en Witteman en startte columniste Sylvia Witteman een petitie tegen het Koningslied die al snel tienduizenden handtekeningen opleverde. De componist kwam bovendien in opspraak doordat hij voor de melodie van zijn lied plagiaat zou hebben gepleegd.

John Ewbank

John Ewbank (Eastleigh, 6 december 1968; hofleverancier voor Marco Borsato) schreef de melodie van het nummer en het refrein. De tekst van de coupletten is gebaseerd op inzendingen van burgers. Guus Meeuwis, Alain Clark, Daphne Deckers en Jack Poels hebben de versregels uiteindelijk geschreven. De muziek wordt uitgevoerd door het Metropole Orkest en Carel Kraayenhof. In totaal hebben 51 artiesten het koningslied ingezongen.

Het lied zal ondanks alle commotie op 30 april gewoon in Ahoy' ten gehore worden gebracht. Kaarten daarvoor zijn voor 5 euro te koop en alle opbrengsten van de kaarten en het nummer gaan naar het Oranjefonds.

Armin van Buuren featuring Trevor Guthrie

Armin van Buuren featuring Trevor Guthrie komen op 20 april 2013 op 9 de Top 40 binnen met This Is What It Feels Like. De track is de voorloper van het vijfde studioalbum Intense. Op de track wordt hij bijgestaan door de Canadese zanger en songschrijver Trevor Guthrie. In de videoclip is de pornolegende Ron Jeremy te zien. Op 30 april verzorgt Armin samen met het Concertgebouw Orkest, op het Java-eiland, een optreden voor de nieuwe koning en koningin op verzoek van Willem Alexander en Maximá zelf.

Armin van Buuren werd op 25 december 1976 geboren in Leiden. In 2001 scoorde hij als Perpetuous Dreamer zijn eerste hit met The Sound Of Goodbye (#26). In 2008 scoorde hij samen met Sharon den Adel zijn eerste top 10 hit (#10) met In And Out Of Love. In de lijst van het Britse blad DJ Mag stond Armin van Buuren vijf keer bovenaan: van 2007 tot en met 2010 en in 2012. Op 30 april 2011 werd hij benoemd tot Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau.

Trevor Guthrie is geboren in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Van 1993 tot 2005 was Guthrie zanger van de groep soulDecision. Via een vriend van Guthrie die met de Duitse dj Markus Schulz werkte, kreeg Guthrie de track This Is What It Feels Like met het verzoek om het in te zingen.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis & Ray Dalton

Hun debuutsingle Thrift Shop staat in de elfde week notering nog in de hoogste regionen van de Top 40 (op 5), maar de nieuwe single van Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Can’t Hold Us stijgt op 20 april 2013 van 12 naar 10 in de derde week. Can’t Hold Us maakten ze deze keer in samenwerking met Ray Dalton. Het nummer was enige tijd geleden te horen in een commercial voor Microsoft Outlook.

Macklemore is de artiestennaam van Ben Haggerty geboren op 19 juni 1983 in Seattle. Zijn debuutalbum The Heist verscheen op 9 oktober 2012.  

Ryan Lewis is een Amerikaans producer geboren op 25 maart 1988 in Spokane.

Ray Dalton is afkomstig uit Seattle, Washington. Hij zong als kind al bij het Seattle Children’s choir. Met het Total experience gospel choir trad hij over de hele wereld op. Met Solzilla nam hij het nummer Need Your Love op. Dat nummer hoorde Ryan Lewis, die hem voorstelde aan Macklemore, waarna ze samen Can’t Hold Us maakten.

Op 6 april stijgt Major Lazer featuring Busy Signal, the Flexican & FS Green van 26 naar 10 met Watch Out For This (Bumaye). De twee Nederlandse producers The Flexican en FS Green maakten een remix waarin zij het nummer Bumaye van rapper Typhoon featuring The Flexican gebruikten. Major Lazer vond het nummer zo goed dat hij zanger Busy Signal uitnodigde om de vocalen te verzorgen.

Major Lazer (Thomas Wesley Pentz)

Major Lazer, ook wel bekend als Diplo, heet in het dagelijkse leven Thomas Wesley Pentz. Hij werd geboren op 10 november 1978 in Tupelo, Verenigde Staten. De eerste single van Major Lazer, Hold The Line, verscheen in 2009, maar scoorde nergens. In 2012 was Get Free de eerste hit: #3 in België, #7 in Nederland, #29 in Denemakren en #39 in Australië.

The Flexican (Thomás Goethals)

The Flexican is de artiestennaam van Thomás Goethals. Hij werd op 11 oktober 1983 geboren in Mexico-Stad. Nadat zijn ouders scheidden, vertrok hij (dan 9) met zijn moeder en kleinere broer naar Buitenveldert. In 2004 richtte hij samen met Sef en MC Fit de hiphopgroep Flinke namen op. Met Flinke namen scoorde hij twee hits: Als Zij Langs Loopt (#33) en Wolken (#53)in 2009.

FS Green (Franklin Groen)

Franklin Groen werd geboren in Amsterdam op 8 september 1988. Hij koos als artiestennaam FS Green.
