Formidable van Stromae stijgt op 21 december 2013 van 12 naar 6 in de zesde week notering. Het is zijn derde Top 40- en top 10-succes. In Frankrijk en België (zowel Wallonië als Vlaanderen) bereikte de single al nummer 1. In Nederland stijgt de single snel mede dankzij de Nederlandstalige cover van Cheyenne Toney in tvprogramma The Voice Of Holland.

Stromae is de artiestennaam van Paul Van Haver. De in Brussel op 12 maart 1985 geboren singer-songwriter is van Belgisch-Rwandese afkomst. In 2010 debuteerde hij met de track Alors On Danse die 8 weken op #1 stond in de Top 40.

U2 komt met Ordinary Love op 14 december 2013 op 9 de Top 40 binnen. De song is een eerbetoon aan Nelson Mandela. Frontman Bono was namelijk goed bevriend met de vroegere Zuid-Afrikaanse president en sprak hem regelmatig.
Ordinary Love is afkomstig van de soundtrack van de film Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom. Toen de film gemaakt werd en U2 het thema schreef, wist natuurlijk nog niemand dat Nelson Mandela zelf amper een week na de release van de track zou overlijden. De film ging op 5 december 2013 in Groot-Brittannië in première. Gedurende die avond werd bekend dat Nelson Mandela op 95-jarige leeftijd was overleden, waarna direct een minuut stilte werd gehouden. Het is U2's 44ste hit in Nederland en hun 31ste top 10 succes. Op 22 februari 2014 stijgt de single in de 11e week notering terug de top 10 in van 12 naar 8.

U2 is een Ierse rockband met Bono (Paul David Hewson)-zang en gitaar, The Edge (David Howell Evans)-gitaar, piano, bas en soms zang, Adam Clayton op bas en soms gitaar, en Larry Mullen jr. op drums. Deze bezetting is van het begin in 1976 af altijd ongewijzigd gebleven wat uitzonderlijk is in de popgeschiedenis. I Will Follow (live) was in 1982 hun eerste hit (#12). Pas in 2000 scoorden ze hun eerste nummer 1 hit met Beautiful Day (2 weken). In 2001 stond Elevation een week aan kop, in 2006 The Saints Are Coming (met Green Day) 2 weken en in 2007 Window In The Skies 1 week.

Cris Cab featuring Pharrell Williams stijgt met Liar Liar op 14 december 2013 in de vijfde week van 11 naar 10. In de zevende week stijgt de single terug de top 10 in van 11 naar 9. Officieel krijgt Pharrell er geen credit voor, maar hij is wel de zanger op Liar Liar en hij is ook te zien in de muziekvideo.

Cris Cab werd geboren op 21 januari 1993 in Miami, Florida. Hij heeft Cubaanse roots. Vanaf zijn vijfde levensjaar speelt hij gitaar. Via een vriend kwam hij als tiener in contact met Pharrell Williams aan wie hij een paar demo’s liet horen. Dat leidde aanvankelijk nog niet tot een contract, maar drie jaren later wel.

Gandhi Djuna werd geboren in Kinshasa op 5 mei 1986. Hij is de zoon van de Congolese zanger Djanana Djuna. Op zijn tweede verhuisde hij met zijn ouders naar Frankrijk. Gandi groeide op in Parijs, studeerde er communicatie en grafische kunst en sloot zich ondertussen aan bij de Parijse hiphopgroep Sexion D'Assaut. In 2012 besloot Gandi het ook eens solo te proberen en kwam met zijn debuutalbum Subliminal.

Marco Borsato en Trijntje Oosterhuis stijgen op 30 november 2013 met superstip van 12 naar 3. Marco Borsato schrijft met Ik zou het zo weer overdoen Top 40-geschiedenis. Het is zijn twintigste top 3-notering in de hitlijst. Daarmee verslaat hij The Beatles, ABBA en Michael Jackson. The Beatles hebben negentien Top 3-hits achter hun naam staan en ABBA en Michael Jackson elk achttien.

John Legend stijgt op 23 november 2013 van 15 naar 10 met All Of Me in de vierde week notering. Het is zijn 8ste Top 40 hit en 2e top 10-succes. In vlaanderen heeft hij nog nooit de Vlaamse Ultratop 50 gehaald.

John Legend werd geboren op 28 december 1978 als John Stephens in Springfield, Ohio.  In 2005 scoorde hij zijn eerste hit met Ordinary People (#20).
