De Brit Mark Ronson wordt op 4 september 1975 geboren. In 2003 verscheen zijn debuutalbum Here Comes The Fuzz. In 2006 is zijn tweede album Version daar. Daarop staat onder andere de cover Valerie, een samenwerking met Amy Winehouse, en dat werd in Nederland een nummer 1-hit. 

Bruno Mars werd op 8 oktober 1985 geboren als Peter Gene Hernandez. Hij begon zijn muzikale loopbaan als producent voor onder andere Brandy, Cee Lo Green en Sean Kingston. In 2010 bracht hij eigen werk uit met zijn eerste mini-album It’s Better If You Don’t Understand. Ondertussen leverden zijn bijdragen aan de hits van B.o.B (Nothin’ On You) en Travie McCoy (Billionaire) hem al direct twee nummer 1-hits in de Top 40 op. Just The Way You Are stond in de zomer van 2010 elf weken op de eerste plaats van de Top 40. Ook de opvolgers Grenade en The Lazy Song werden grote hits.
