Pharell Williams

Op 14 september 2013 stijgt Pharell Williams van 11 naar 9 met Happy in de vijfde week notering. Op 28 september 2013 keert hij terug in de top 10 en op 19 april 2014 in de 36e week nog eens en dan is het al de succesvolste track die ooit in de Top 40 heeft gestaan. Happy is de themasong van de film Despicable me 2 die sinds 26 juni 2013 in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien is.
In juni haalde de Nederlandse formatie Mainstreet de tipparade niet met Despicable Me, het thema van Verschrikkelijke ikke, de Nederlandse versie van Despicable me 2.
Happy is Williams dertiende Nederlandse hitsingle en vijfde top 10 hit. Daarvan scoort hij er maar liefst drie in 2013 door zijn medewerkingen aan Blurred Lines van Robin Thicke (#1; 11 weken) en Get Lucky van Daft Punk (#2).

Pharrell Williams werd geboren in Virginia Beach (Virginia) op 5 april 1973. Hij behoort onder meer tot het producersduo The Neptunes en de band N*E*R*D. Boys met Britney Spears was in 2002 zijn eerste hit: #14. Met Drop It Like It's Hot haalde hij samen met Snoop Dogg in 2005 voor het eerst de top 10: #5. In 2010 stond hij twee weken op 1 met One (Your Name) met de Swedish House Mafia. 2013 is zijn piekjaar met nu al drie top 10-hits.
