Kiesza

Hideway van Kiesza stijgt op 24 mei 2014 in de derde week notering van 14 naar 9.
Producer Rami Samir Afuni speelde toen Kiesza een vliegtuig moest halen een deuntje en dat werd de basis van Hideaway. De tekst schreef Kiesza snel snel in tien minuten. Ook de videoclip stond er later zo op. Die werd in één take in Brooklyn, New York, geschoten. In het Verenigd Koninkrijk bereikte ze al nummer 1.

Kiesza werd in 1989 geboren in Calgary, Canada, als Kiesa Rae Ellestad. Voor ze de Top 40 bestormde was ze ballerina, zeiler op tallships, scherpschutter bij de marine en in 2005 kandidaat Miss Universe voor Canada. Toen ze achttien  was scheidden haar ouders en toen schreef ze haar eerste liedje om haar gevoelens te uiten. Ze liet het horen aan de buren, die net bezoek hadden van een medewerker van radiostation CKUA Radio Network en die was enthousiast. Na een radio-optreden mocht ze een demo opnemen en won ze een beurs voor het Berklee College of Music in Boston. Met een muziekopleiding in de achterzak vertrok ze naar New York voor een carrière in de muziek. Kiesza schreef eerder al nummers voor de nieuwe albums van Rihanna, Kylie Minogue en Icona Pop.
