Glennis Grace en Edwin Evers komen op 31 december op 9 binnen met Wil Je Niet Nog 1 Nacht. Het is Glennis' vijfde Top 40 hit, derde hit in 2012 en tweede top 10-hit. Voor Edwin Evers is het zijn vierde hit en eerste top 10-hit.

Tijdens zijn vakantie in Las Vegas hoorde Edwin Evers het duet Don’t You Wanna Stay van countryzanger Jason Aldean en Kelly Clarkson op de radio. Edwin was zo onder de indruk van de track dat hij besloot een Nederlandse tekst te schrijven. Hij belde Glennis Grace op met de vraag of zij de demo wilde inzingen. Tijdens het inzingen werden beiden zo enthousiast dat spontaan besloten werd om er  een duet van te maken.

Glennis Grace is sinds 2010 ammbassadeur van de stichting Stop Kindermisbruik. De volledige opbrengst van de track komt ten goede van deze stichting.

Glennis Grace werd geboren als Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta in Amsterdam op 19 juni 1978.Met I'm Gonna Be Strong haalde ze in 1994 #13. In 2005 vertegenwoordigde ze Nederland op het Eurovisie Songfestival met My Impossible Dream (#26).

Edwin Evers werd geboren in Hardenberg op 9 mei 1971 en werkt nu als radio-dj bij Radio 538. Ook is hij drummer en zanger/imitator. In 1998 haalde hij als Frank & Ronald #16 met Geld Maakt Niet Gelukkig. In 2004 haalde hij #17 met Waar Moet 'Ie In? (Daar Moet 'Ie in) (wederom als Frank & Ronald). In het voorjaar van 2007 deed hij mee aan het Tien-programma Just the two of us. Daarin vormde hij een zangduo met Berget Lewis. Ze wonnen in de finale van Monique Smit en Xander de Buisonjé. In 2008 scoorde Evert als Kid B met Martin van der Starre een #17 met Una Paloma Blanca Heel De Zomer Lang. In een van de uitzendingen van het tweede seizoen van het RTL 4 programma Ik hou van Holland speelde hij drums in de I Love Holland-band. Daarnaast heeft hij zijn eigen band: Evers slaat door. Ook is de band van Edwin de band van het populaire tv-programma The Voice of Holland van RTL 4.

Achter de actnaam Sandro Silva en Quintino gaan de dj’s Quinten van den Berg en Shandro Jahangier schuil. Quinten van den Berg scoorde in de zomer van 2011 een hit met het Turn Up The Beach-anthem Selecta (#37) dat hij samen met Afrojack maakte.

De Studio Killers stijgen op 24 december 2011 van 12 naar 9 met Ode To The Bouncer. De Studio Killers bestaan uit zangeres Cherry, toetsenist Goldie Foxx en diskjockey/muziekproducent Dyna Mink.

Studio Killers is een virtuele band, die ontstaan is in 2011. De stemmen van de geanimeerde karakters zijn van Philip Larsen uit Denemarken, Teemu Brunila uit Finland en Darren Stokes uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Wie welk personage vertolkt is onbekend.

Ed Sheeran stijgt op 10 december 2011 in de tiende week van 12 naar 8 met The A Team. The A Team is de eerste single van het debuutalbum van de Britse singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. Op 3 november 2011 stijgen Guus Meeuwis en Gers Pardoel naar 6 met Nergens Zonder Jou. Het is Gers' vierde hit en derde top 10-succes. Het is Guus' 21ste hit en 11e top 10-notering.

Gerwin 'Gers' Pardoel werd geboren in Nijmegen op 12 mei 1981. Hij woont nu in Rotterdam. Op 19 november 2011 stijgt Birdy van 14 naar 5 met Skinny Love. De song is een cover van de Amerikaanse folkgroep Bon Iver. Bon Iver nam het in 2008 op, maar behaalde er nergens de hitparade mee. Op 11 februari 2012 stijgt de track in de 15e week notering terug de top 10 in van 11 naar 9.

Birdy werd geboren op 15 mei 1996 als Jasmine Van den Bogaerde in Lymington, Hampshire. Haar moeder is concertpianiste. In 2008 won ze op 12-jarige leeftijd de muziekwedstrijd Open Mic.  Haar versie van Bon Ivers Skinny Love kwam in januari 2011 uit in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en die piekt op #17.  Haar debuutalbum Birdy verschijnt op 7 november 2011.

Op 19 november stijgt LMFAO van 12 naar 9 met Sexy And I Know It. Het is de derde single van het album Sorry For Party Rocking. De track verscheen op 16 september 2011. In de VS haalde de track #2. Op 15 oktober stijgen Rihanna en Calvin Harris van 14 naar 3 met We Found Love. Rihanna staat op die datum ook nog op 6 met haar solosingle Man Down. We Found Love is een track van de Barbadiaanse zangeres Rihanna van haar nog te verschijnen zesde studioalbum Talk That Talk. De single is geproduceerd door Calvin Harris. We Found Love ging op 22 september 2011 in première. Op 27 september zorgde Rihanna voor opschudding door zonder toestemming van een Ierse boer in lingerie door zijn graanveld te dansen voor de opname van de clip. Later stemde hij toe nadat hij met haar had gesproken, maar hij had geen idee wie de zangeres was. In de clip speelt de Britse boxer Dudley O’Shaughnessy ook een rol. De single bereikte al de toppositie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Noorwegen, Frankrijk en Denemarken.

Calvin Harris werd op 17 januari 1984 geboren als Adam Richard Wiles in het Schotse Dumfries. In 2007 verscheen zijn eerste single Acceptable In The 90's, maar hij moest tot juli 2011 wachten voor zijn eerste Top 40 hit en dat was Bounce met Kelis en die bracht het tot #28.

One Thousand Voices van The Voice Of Holland stijgt op 8 oktober van 21 naar 1. Marco Borsato, Angela Groothuizen, Nick & Simon, en Roel van Velzen gaan schuil achter deze actnaam. Zij zijn ook de coaches van seizoen 2 van het gelijknamige tvprogramma. Seizoen twee begon op 23 september 2011 en coaches VanVelzen, Angela Groothuizen, Nick & Simon en Marco Borsato openden daarmee. De inkomsten uit de verkochte downloads gaan naar Stichting Heppie, dat zorgeloze groepsvakanties en weekends organiseert voor kinderen die om uiteenlopende redenen er nooit op uit kunnen.

Voor Marco Roberto Borsato (Alkmaar, 21 december 1966) is deze track zijn 16e nummer één hit. Voor Angela Groothuizen (Alkmaar, 28 september 1959) is het haar tweede nummer 1 hit na Love Me Just A Little Bit More (met de Dolly Dots). Voor Nick & Simon (Nick Schilder; Volendam, 6 november 1983 en Simon Keizer; Volendam, 16 mei 1984) en Roel van Velzen (Delft, 20 maart 1978) is het hun eerste nummer 1-hit.

The Voice of Holland is een talentenjacht die RTL4 op 17 september 2010 voor het eerst uitzond. Het programma is bedacht door John de Mol. Door het succes van de Nederlandse versie werd het format wereldwijd verkocht. Bij The Voice of Holland doe je een blind audition, een idee van Roel van Velzen. Tijdens de blind audition krijgen de vier juryleden/coaches de kans om voor een zanger/duo te kiezen op basis van muzikaliteit en stem. Elk kandidaat heeft de kans om ongeveer één minuut lang een nummer naar keuze te zingen en als één van de juryleden/coaches besluit om de artiest in zijn of haar team te plaaten moet het jurylid op zijn of haar eigen knop drukken en het jurylid draait zich vervolgens om zodat hij de act kan zien. Wanneer twee of meer juryleden een artiest in zijn of haar team wil hebben, mag de artiest zelf kiezen met welk coach hij of zij verder wil. De winnaar van het eerste seizoen was Ben Saunders.

Elena Gheorghe

Elena Gheorghe stijgt op 1 oktober van 13 naar 9 met Midnight Sun. Na Inna en Alexandra Stan is Elena de derde Roemeense zangeres met een Nederlandse top 10-hit. Midnight Sun werd opgenomen in de zomer van 2010 en was in Roemenië voor het eerst te horen op 15 november 2010. De track is afkomstig van Gheorghe's nog te verschijnen album Midnight Sun. De video is opgenomen op 11 april 2011 in het archeologiemuseum in Boekarest. Het is Elena's tweede Nederlandse hit en eerste top 10-succes.


Elena Gheorge werd geboren in Boekarest op 30 juli 1985. Ze vertegenwoordigde Roemenië in 2009 op het Eurovisie Songfestival. Haar song The Balkan Girls bereikte de finale en werd uiteindelijk 19e. Op 24 september komt Coldplay met Paradise op 7 binnen in de Top 40. De track is afkomstig van het op 24 oktober 2011 te verschijnen album Mylo Xyloto. Mylo Xyloto betekent volgens zanger Chris Martin wat de luisteraar zelf wil. Voor hemzelf staat het voor 'de vrijheid om alles te bedenken wat je wilt'. Keizer & De Munnik

Op 22 augustus 2011  gaan in het radio 2 programma De Gouden Uren twee singles in première: Kijk Me Na van Keizer en De Munnik en Sterker Dan Ooit van Nick & Thomas. Aangekondigd wordt dat de twee duo's een battle aan zullen gaan. De twee singles zijn vanaf dinsdag 23 augustus legaal te downloaden, en verschijnen 2 september op cd-single samen met twee 'solo'-versies. Op zaterdag 3 september 2011 is de voorlopige winnaar Sterker Nu Dan Ooit van Nick & Thomas, want hun single komt op 10 binnnen. Kijk Me Na van Keizer & De Munnik komt op 13 binnen. In de tweede week haalt hun single ook de top 10, dan stijgt de track van 13 naar 9.

Toen Nick & Simon voor hun in oktober geplande Symphonica In Rosso stadionconcerten een gastact zochten en vonden in Acda en de Munnik werd het ooit als grap geopperde wederzijdse vreemdgaan werkelijkheid. Nick & Thomas wordt gevormd door Nick Schilder - van Nick & Simon - en Thomas Acda, van Acda en de Munnik. Keizer & De Munnik is een samenwerking tussen Simon Keizer – bekend van Nick & Simon - en Paul de Munnik, bekend van Acda en de Munnik. Na het viertal concerten in de Symphonica In Rosso reeks op 8, 14, 15 en 16 oktober 2011 zal ieder weer zijns weegs gaan.

Nick Schilder (6 november 1983) en Simon Keizer (16 mei 1984) scoorden als Nick & Simon 13 hits. Vaarwel verleden / De Soldaat was in oktober 2006 de eerste (#21). Vier keer bereikten ze de top 10: Kijk Omhoog (#6 in 2007), Rosanne (#4 in 2008), Hoe Lang? (#3 in 2008) en Het Masker / Santa's Party (#8 in 2009). Vier songs staan in de Radio 2 Top 2000 waarvan Pak Maar M'n Hand in 2010 op 317 de hoogste is.

Thomas Acda (6 maart 1967) en Paul de Munnik (30 september 1970) scoorden als Acda & De Munnik 11 hits. Niet Of Nooit Geweest was in juni 1998 de eerste. Twee keer bereikten ze de top 10: Niet Of Nooit Geweest (#2 in 1998) en Groeten Uit Maaiveld (#10 in 2003). Negen songs staan in de Radio 2 Top 2000 waarvan Het Regent Zonnestralen in 2010 op 52 de hoogstgenoteerde is. Samen met de groep Van Dik Hout vormden Acda & De Munnik De Poema's. Dat leverde drie hits op, waaronder de top 10 hits Mijn Houten Hart (#7 in 1999) en Zij Maakt Het Verschil (2 weken 1 in 2001).
